Housebreaking Your New Puppy
Newspaper Training

Quick Tip, let the training room have an easy to clean floor. Put plenty of newspapers over the floor. When the puppy does it's business give the puppy some praise. Praise him every time he does his business on the newspaper. When cleaning up the stools or urinated places, only remove the top layer of the paper, because the bottom layer will contain the scent. The puppy will go where the scent it. This takes patience. If the puppy messes up, firmly say "NO" and remind him where to go. NEVER put the puppies face in the urinations or stools this causes health problems. Gradually make the areas of newspapers smaller.

Outdoors Training

During the newspaper stage, take your puppy outdoors quite often such as after meals and naps. Take the puppy to the same area of the yard every visit outdoors. Bring some newspaper the puppy has done business on to the place so the puppy will eventually understand where to go.
If you are training outdoors only and no newspapers, take the puppy outdoors after meals and nap time. If you see the signs your puppy needs to go, take him outdoors.

Signs a Puppy Needs to Go

Walking in circles, sniffing, crying, and scratching the floor. If you see any of these signs, take the puppy to the appointed place.
